Curtis Bottomley Award (for Motivation, Achievement, Leadership and Commitment), Miramonte Water Polo, 2023

LAMO Award for Leadership, Atmosphere, Mastery, Opportunity, Lamorinda Water Polo, 2017, 2018, 2019

In July 2016, I attended a water polo clinic with Eldad Hazor at my local rec swimming pool. I was hooked! That fall, I joined Lamorinda Water Polo Club and I’ve been playing water polo year-round ever since. During my time with Lamorinda WPC, we played in several large tournaments each year – Kap7, San Diego County Cup (where we placed in the top 3 several times), USA Water Polo’s Junior Olympics, Cuisineau Cup, as well as many other local tournaments. This past season, I left Lamorinda WPC to join Diablo Alliance Water Polo Club (Coach Robby Arroyo) to form their first-ever Boys 18U team.

I’ve attended USA Water Polo’s Olympic Development Program camps (Cadet and Youth) for the Pacific Zone and in 2022 advanced to the final selection day (top 40) as one of the youngest players in attendance. I was named an Outstanding Academic All-American by USA Water Polo, from 2020-present.

In addition to club polo, I also play for the Miramonte High School team. I was a starter on the JV team my freshman and sophomore years (under Coach Joey Estrada), and was promoted to Varsity my Junior year (under Coaches John Nash and Lincoln Haley). Miramonte’s team is consistently ranked in the Top 10 in Northern California and Top 20 in the United States. I am a dedicated player who is proud to support my team in whatever it needs most, whether playing another position, taking team statistics, running the desk/clock/computer systems, or just cheering on the team. Our coach has often commented on my strengths as a committed and outstanding teammate. After years of playing in the center defender position, I am starting to play hole set (center 0ffense) more and more.
