The 18U Diablo Alliance team finished in top half of our division at the 2023 Junior Olympics, a feat we, as a young 18 team, were quite proud of. We ended the tournament with four wins and four losses – earning us a 23rd place finish. Many of us will be back next year, eager to improve our record!
Our first game of the tournament pitted us agains 680B – a team that we often play locally. We were disappointed to lose that first game (11/8), but came back to win our next two games versus Supreme (12/8) and Chicago Park District (7/6). Our second day faced losses to Channel Islands(9/8) and Charges (15/5). On day three, we lost to San Luis Obispo (12/8) but then began our comeback vs Modesto, winning 11/8. Our last game was perhaps the highlight of the weekend, when we were once again matched against 680B. We ended the tournament on a high note, winning in a shootout 15/14.
In between games, our team travelled together to cheer on our 12U, 14U, and 16U teams throughout the weekend. Let’s go Diablo!
