My first experience at Santa Clara was not in the classroom, but instead in the great outdoors. Their program, Into the Wild, invited incoming freshmen to join them for a variety of outdoor adventures and I couldn’t wait! I was accepted and was able to join them for a 3-day backpacking trip to Stanislaus National Forest where we hiked with our packs over 22 miles around beautiful alpine lakes. We came back to Santa Clara and it felt great to already have a few familiar faces.
