After playing water polo since the fifth grade and attending the annual USA Water Polo Junior Olympics at the end of July each year since, it is hard to believe I just played for the last time. I made the difficult decision not to play competitively in college and will miss the incredible team camaraderie that we’ve built playing together. I’ve made some of my best friends through my involvement in water polo, nothing brings a group together like 5:30 am practice, or suffering through some crazy drill invented by coaches just to torture us. I hope that I have the chance to stay involved with water polo, either with the college club team, coaching, or as a referee.
