As part of our AP Physics 1 class, we were challenged to design and build a working trebuchet that could launch a tennis ball a minimum of 25 feet.  As soon as the project was assigned, I got to work sketching out designs and making plans for my trebuchet. I soon took over the garage with my project (with my right-hand helper, my dog Rocket). There was a lot of trial and error to get the sling and launching mechanism just right, but I finally was successful! In the end, my trebuchet launched a tennis ball over four times the distance required.
